West Ham are set to become the first club to trial an innovative new initiative that could speed up fans’ return to stadiums.
The east Londoners are working on a Covid-19 protection sanitiser tunnel, designed to provide an added layer of security for supporters concerned about the coronavirus risk.
The innovation is understood to consist of three sets of tunnels which provide facial recognition and takes the temperature of fans.
As they walk in they are sprayed lightly with a non-alcoholic based solution before they emerge on the other side.

I had to use one of these earlier today. You have to take the mask off so the scanner can do it's job, so...oops! Took your picture by mistake. Don't worry, we'll delete it later.
Same as the entertainment screens on the back of aircraft seats - all got built in cameras as they are basically standard off-the-shelf tablets.

Can plan and pay for this dealing with a life threatening disease, yet can't sort out 2 bob scaffolding to hold seats up and take a year to order a claret carpet.

Well of course- the sooner the fans come back, the more tickets they can sell and the less they have to refund on season tickets.
Also, are the security guards really going to be able to successfully stop some big bastard or a group of big bastards a few beers in, intent on going to the game because he/they have got a high temperature? It'll never work other.

I can't help but feel that this push to get fans back in the grounds is absolutely nothing to do with the benefit of the fans at all.
It is just so that they can be used as cash cows.
